Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the situation in Donbas with Anthony Blinken

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with the Secretary of State of the United States of America Anthony Blinken.

On the eve of the planned talks between US President Joseph Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Ukrainian and American sides coordinated positions on key issues.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the inevitability of the peace process. The steps that Ukraine is taking and intends to take to intensify it were discussed.

The President of Ukraine also informed Anthony Blinken about the situation on the borders of our state. He thanked for the strong support of the United States, which is systematically drawing the world’s attention to Russian military activities near the Ukrainian border and consolidating the efforts of democracies to prevent escalation.

The importance of maintaining coordinated and effective sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation by international partners until the full restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity was emphasized.

The parties also touched upon the importance of strengthening security cooperation, which would help curb aggressive behavior by Russia towards Ukraine.

It was also agreed to hold a telephone conversation between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Joseph Biden after talks between the presidents of the United States and Russia.

Earlier, US senators said they supported Ukraine on the eve of Biden’s talks with Putin.
