Ukraine will acquire French-made Rafale fighter jets and begin domestic production of Aster-30 interceptor missiles and SCALP cruise missiles under French licenses, French President Emmanuel Macron announced following a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris, UATV English reports.

According to Macron, the first Rafale aircraft are expected to enter service with the Ukrainian Air Force in 2028–2029.

The French president also confirmed that the coalition had agreed on additional deliveries of air defense systems and missiles to Ukraine to strengthen the country’s protection against continued Russian attacks.

In addition, Macron announced that France will grant Ukraine licenses to manufacture Aster-30 surface-to-air interceptor missiles and SCALP long-range cruise missiles.

According to the French leader, the agreements will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities while expanding its domestic production of advanced weapons.

The announcements form part of broader Franco-Ukrainian defense cooperation aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s long-term military resilience and developing its domestic defense industry alongside continued Western military assistance.
