U.S. senators have expressed support for Ukraine ahead of Biden’s talks with Putin

U.S. senators called the possibility of further aggressive actions by Russia against Ukraine a mistake of historical scale.

The senators said they supported our country on the eve of the upcoming talks between Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin.

Speaking on CNN, Senator Chris Murphy (D), member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, said Ukraine could become the next Afghanistan for the Russian Federation. At the same time, Republican Sen. Johnny Ernst called on President Biden to be ‘very clear and very strong’ in his dealings with Putin.

A video call between presidents of the United States and Russia will take place on Tuesday.
