The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov called for urgent interstate consultations within the framework of the Crimean platform due to illegal arrests in the occupied Crimea.
In his opinion, a new round of repression on the peninsula is, among other things, a test of the strength of the countries participating in the Crimean Platform summit.
“In this situation, when repressions against the indigenous Crimean Tatar people are growing, when our people are in danger of their lives, when the repetition of the catastrophes that we experienced in the 20th century from Moscow is possible, then in this case, why should the leaders of Western countries not to declare that all the repressions that are now being carried out in the occupied Crimea do not allow them – the leaders of Western countries – to hold meetings, and generally conduct a dialogue with Putin and his entourage? Why not put symmetrical demands on Russia, on the demands it makes on Ukraine and the free Western world? ” – said Chubarov.

To remind, on September 3 to 4, the power structures of the occupying authorities of Crimea conducted illegal searches in the houses of the Crimean Tatars, which ended in the abduction of 5 people: cousins Aziz and Asan Akhtemov, Shevket Useinov, Eldar Odamanov and Nariman Dzhelyalov.
