Ukrainian forces have destroyed a rare Russian ISDM Zemledeliye remote mine-laying system on the Zaporizhzhia front, the Nemesis Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade announced, UATV English reports.

According to the brigade, the Russian engineering vehicle was first struck by an FPV drone before a follow-up strike ignited the system, destroying the target. The unit released video footage of the operation.

The Zemledeliye system, first publicly unveiled during Russia’s 2020 Victory Day parade in Moscow, is designed to rapidly deploy minefields at distances of between 5 and 15 kilometers using specialized rocket-fired munitions.

The system automatically maps the location of deployed mines and is mounted on a heavy KamAZ chassis equipped with a computerized fire-control system, making it one of Russia’s more advanced engineering assets.

The brigade said the destruction of each Zemledeliye launcher significantly degrades Russia’s engineering and logistics capabilities by reducing its ability to quickly establish remote defensive minefields along the front line.

The strike follows other recent operations by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, including attacks on Russian radar systems, military infrastructure and a Mi-28 attack helicopter in Russia’s Belgorod region.
