300 citizens of Ukraine are illegally detained in ORDLO prisons – Denisova

Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova stated that 300 Ukrainian citizens were illegally detained in prisons in the uncontrolled territory of Donetsk and Luhansk region.

This was reported by UA with reference to the Telegram-channel of Liudmyla Denisova.

The Ombudsman took part in the Third International Forum on Eastern Ukraine – “Overcoming the conflict in Donbass as a task of generations: promoting justice, dialogue, reconciliation”, where she raised the issue of release of Ukrainians persecuted for political reasons, civilian hostages and prisoners of war, illegals in the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

“Currently, illegal Russian-controlled armed groups are holding 300 Ukrainian citizens in ORDLO prisons: 223 in Donetsk and 77 in Luhansk oblasts” – Denisova said.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights noted that according to international law, victims are all those who have been oppressed by their rights and freedoms.

To remind, Ukrainian political prisoners, who are being held in SIZO-3 in Novocherkassk in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation, are not receiving medical care.
