President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a speech at the UN General Assembly, compared the distribution of COVID vaccines in the world with the distribution of lifeboats and called drugs a weapon of discrimination.

This is reported by UA with the reference to the speech of the head of state at the UN General Assembly.

“We played for equality, we played as one. Where one thing is to share common goals, the other is sharing vaccines together. It turned out that articles on equality, as in advertisements, have an asterisk and a small print: we are all human, we are all in the same boat, but first class passengers will be the first to receive lifeboats” – the president said.

According to him, Ukraine did not expect help from others and helped others without waiting for gratitude.

“We sent our doctors to Italy, sent the necessary funds, Ukraine helped everyone who needed it, when the world forgot that the pandemic is not forever and the states will gather here someday again, but how they will now look each other in the eyes” – added Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In addition, the Ukrainian president said that “who could have imagined that drugs would once become a weapon of discrimination”.

To remind, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
