Verkhovna Rada must be ready to introduce an emergency due to the migration crisis – Monastyrsky

The Ukrainian authorities must be ready to impose a state of emergency in the regions bordering the Republic of Belarus.

This was stated by Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky, UA informs.

“The assessment of the whole complex of risks and threats of the migration crisis leads to the conclusion that, if necessary, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should be ready to consider the introduction of a state of emergency in border areas“ – he said.

The Minister noted that currently there is no such need, as the situation on the border with Belarus is controlled and stable.

Monastyrsky also said that law enforcement officers conducted team staff exercises, during which they worked out possible scenarios for the situation. And soon field exercises will be held jointly with the Ministry of Defense to work out specific scenarios of a possible influx of migrants.
