Ukraine can offer its gas storage facilities to Europe, as it has historically filled them with 20-26 billion cubic meters out of 33 available.

This was reported by UA with reference to the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, such a “gas fund” will be a good stabilizing factor for overcoming energy crises.

Ukraine is ready to offer additional capacity for gas transit to Europe of at least 55 million cubic meters per day.

“We have a transit contract until 2024, but we are negotiating to extend it for 15 years. Such negotiations are currently underway with European partners, as they, as gas buyers, are interested in Ukraine remaining a reliable transit country for “blue fuel”. In general, our gas transmission system can transport twice as much gas as is currently contracted. The system is prepared for this and it is completely reliable” – the Prime Minister stressed.

To remind, Ukraine agreed with the United States on the supply of coal through supplies blocked by Russia. The first ship will arrive next week.
