Ukraine and the European Union have signed a Common Aviation Area Agreement

Ukraine and the European Union signed a number of documents in the presence of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

In particular, the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU member-states on the Common Aviation Area was signed. The document provides for the creation of a common aviation area between Ukraine and the EU, which will promote mutual access to air transport markets with a level playing field and respect for the same rules. These include flight safety, aviation security, air traffic management, social harmonization and environmental protection.

Also, an agreement was signed between Ukraine, the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community on Ukraine’s participation in the “Horizon Europe” Research and Innovation Framework Program and the European Atomic Energy Community Research and Training Program (2021-2025), complementary to “Horizon Europe” Research and Innovation Framework Program.

The signing took place within the framework of the 23rd Ukraine-EU summit in Kyiv.
