The government has decided to allocate 21 million hryvnias to purchase material for the production of barbed wire for the border.
This was stated by Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, UA informs.
“The government has already decided to allocate 21 million hryvnias for the purchase of material for the production of barbed wire for the border. This is the allocation of funds from the reserve fund, this is not the funds of the State Border Guard Service. It, like other structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is insufficiently financed. 75% of the total budget of this law enforcement agency is a salary. We are talking about the need to build a new border that will perform its functions” – Monastyrsky said.
According to him, it is necessary to put these funds in the state budget for next year to arrange the state border with the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
“The Ministry of Finance has confirmed that they are ready to allocate 17 billion hryvnias” – the minister added.
