Security Service of Ukraine officers in Vinnytsia region found an official of one of the military units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who was collecting classified information. Law enforcement officers are checking whether he is involved in the intelligence network of the Russian secret services.
This was reported by UA with reference to the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.
“During the investigation, the attacker seized illegally obtained materials on the defense systems of domestic defense facilities, including combat aircraft” – the statement said.
Police found that the official was secretly collecting state secrets in the workplace. To do this, he illegally copied classified defense information and stored it at his place of residence.
In addition, it was established that two of his close relatives voluntarily obtained Russian citizenship. At the same time, one of them hid the presence of Russian citizenship when entering one of the universities of the Armed Forces.
“According to both facts, within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated by the SSU investigators under Part 1 of Art. 422 (disclosure of information of a military nature that constitutes a state secret, or loss of documents or materials containing such information) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, investigative actions were carried out to establish all the circumstances of illegal activities and prosecute the perpetrators” – the Security Service of Ukraine said.
To remind, the Security Service of Ukraine handed over more than 500 tons of weapons to the Ministry of Defense.
