Today, October 19, the 48th, 49th and 50th stars in honor of Ukrainian athletes, winners of the Paralympic Games, were opened on the Sports Square in Kyiv.

The stars immortalize the names of the biathlete, skier, multiple champion and winner of the Winter Paralympic Games Olena Yurkovska, multiple Paralympic world and European swimming champion Maksym Krypak and visually impaired athlete, participant of 5 Paralympic Games Viktor Smirnov.

They all say that the opening of their stars in the center of the capital came as a surprise to them. Athletes were selected in several stages, the candidates passed an expert commission, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the National Olympic Committee. And a week later, the organizers announce the opening of another sports star.

Each star has a QR code, by scanning which one can learn more about the athlete.

To remind, Maksym Krypak became the most successful Paralympian of Ukraine.
