Russia is blatantly violating human rights in the occupied Crimea.

According to UA, the corresponding statement was made on Twitter by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reacting to the illegal searches and detention of five Crimean Tatars in Crimea.

“Russia is once again blatantly violating human rights in the occupied Crimea. This morning, the homes of Crimean Tatars were searched and detained. These inadmissible persecutions must be stopped immediately and the people – released. The world community must respond appropriately to violations” – Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

To remind, on August 17 starting from 4 o’clock in the morning there were new mass searches in houses of the Crimean Tatar-Muslims in the Simferopol, Bakhchisaray areas of the Crimea and in the Balaklava, Nakhimovsky areas of Sevastopol in the occupied Crimea. Five people were detained as a result of the searches.

Earlier four Crimean Tatars were sentenced to long terms in the Russian Federation.
