The allocation of a large-scale aid package by the United States to Ukraine is a signal that the pro-Ukrainian coalition continues to work in full. The US came back with a reputation as a leader, a global leader, responsible for ensuring that international rules exist and work. On a practical level, Ukraine received assistance, which will allow it to meet the current needs of the front, as well as plan further actions. This opinion was expressed by Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU) Mykhailo Podolyak on the FREEDOM TV channel.

“As for the political significance of US support, this is an absolutely accurate signal that the pro-Ukrainian coalition continues to work in full, that decisions have been made, the Rubicon has been crossed. That is, support for Ukraine will undoubtedly continue. The United States returned with a reputation as a leading country. A leader not only of democracy, but also a global leader who is responsible for ensuring that the rules still exist,” Podolyak said.

He emphasized that Ukraine will not be left alone with Russia and, accordingly, no one will allow the Russian Federation to win the war.

“The only format in which Russia will be obliged to bear responsibility is if it loses,” the speaker emphasized.

Podolyak noted that the $61 billion in assistance from the United States includes two components. One is direct military assistance from warehouses worth more than $23-27 billion. And the second is a long-term program.

“For a certain amount, weapons should immediately come to Ukraine. The first package of $1 billion has already been approved and is being provided. It included shells, HIMARS ammunition and other weapons. This is what is in stock. Then, using the money provided for in this package, these warehouses will be replenished from production facilities for some time,” said the broadcast guest.

The second part of the package is long-term, which will allow Ukraine to plan actions for the future.

“This already allows us to plan the course of the war. 6 billion that have already been announced is just a long-term program. This allows us to plan the course of the war. That is, a situational need from one part of the package is closed right here and now. These are deliveries that have already begun, which are already coming to Ukraine from Poland and Germany. And a long-term project allows us to plan what we will do in three months, in six. Depending on the delivery of already ordered equipment,” Podolyak explained.

In his opinion, this is a better approach to moderating war.

“Understanding what you can do, what resources you count on today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, what funds will be additionally provided by European partners, which Ukraine can reproduce itself, you can plan. This is a growing exponential. As all these resources come, Ukraine will have more and more opportunities to carry out not only defensive actions, but also to plan offensive operations. Finally, we see the optimal work of our partners in terms of supporting Ukraine,” summed up Mykhailo Podolyak.

Let us remind you that the United States of America has allocated a record aid package to Ukraine – $6 billion. It is allocated within the framework of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). Unlike the already allocated $1 billion aid package, which comes from Pentagon reserves, USAI assistance requires orders from US industry or partners.
