Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksii Danilov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks to tear Ukraine to pieces.

He said this in an interview with Nastoyaschee VremyaUA reports.

Danilov added that for the President of the Russian Federation this task is in the first place.

“There is a difficult issue related to Crimea. After Putin seized Crimea, he needs to fix the situation. To capture this situation, he wants our country to cease to exist within the limits within which it exists today. This is the number one task for him, ”the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council explained.

He added that Putin wants to achieve this through internal destabilization.

“With the help of internal destabilization, to make the country fall apart into two or three parts. This is what Putin wants. This is a task that comes first. And it is with the help of internal destabilization” – Danilov stressed.

If this is not achieved, the Russian president could use weapons. But, according to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Ukraine is ready for this.

Earlier, Danilov said that 122,000 Russian servicemen are at a distance of 200 km near the borders of Ukraine, and 143,500 at a distance of 400 km.
