NATO Rapid Reaction Force put on high alert – Die Welt

Amid the threat of a Russian invasion in Ukraine, the North Atlantic Alliance has put the NATO Rapid Reaction Force (NRF) on alert. Their total number is 40,000 servicemen.

This is reported by Die WeltUA reports.

Sources in the Alliance informed the newspaper that starting December 21, the NATO High Readiness Joint Task Force, which is part of the NRF structure, should be ready to deploy in the crisis area within 5 days. In addition, special forces and military logistics are on high alert.

It is noted that the relevant decision was made by the North Atlantic Council last week.

Earlier, the White House reaffirmed Ukraine’s right to join NATO.
