Military justice will be established in Ukraine to combat the illegal arms trade, coordinate the activities of law enforcement agencies, gather evidence of Russia’s crimes, and to ensure law and order in Donbas.

UA reports this with reference to the statement of Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova at a meeting of law enforcement officials on combating the illegal trade in weapons, ammunition and explosives, psychotropic substances and human trafficking.

About a thousand grenades for grenade launchers; anti-tank rocket-propelled grenades; 56,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibers; stocks of anti-tank mines, inch checkers – a whole arsenal of unaccounted weapons was found by law enforcement officers in September this year in one of the settlements on the contact line. In total, this year the special services found two arsenals of a kind.

To prevent the illegal spread of weapons and increase the search for ammunition, and the “lost” firearms, Ukraine will create military justice. This body will also coordinate the activities of law enforcement agencies, collect evidence of war crimes of the Russian Federation, and ensure the law and order of servicemen and civilians in the conditions of hostilities in Donbas. So far, the mechanism is being developed.
