Maryana Shevchuk won the second Gold for Ukraine

Powerlifter Maryana Shevchuk won a gold medal at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. This is the second “gold” in the Ukrainian treasury of medals.

Performance at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo is the debut for Mariana Shevchuk. The athlete competes in the weight category of up to 55 kg, she managed to take the weight of 125 kg.

Powerlifter was born with chondrodystrophy – a condition that affects the development of cartilaginous tissue. 

To remind, on August 27 the Ukrainian Paralympians won two medals. Yulia Pavlenko became the third in long jump, Vladyslav Bilyi won a silver medal in javelin throwing.
