The Russian Federation may resort to new provocations against representatives of the OSCE mission in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

This is reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, UA informs.

According to Ukrainian military intelligence, the Russian leadership may continue the operation to discredit the Mission.

“The incident with blocking the work of the OSCE Mission and the taking hostage of international observers once again demonstrated the disregard of the Russian authorities of all norms of international law and its failure to adhere to the obligations assumed” – the statement says.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense has repeatedly recorded the implementation of provocations and information-psychological operations by Russia on the eve of high-level international meetings.

The report says that the purpose of the Russian occupation administrations is to create artificial problems for the work of the Mission’s observers on the eve of the negotiations of the foreign ministers in the Normandy format, which are planned in the nearest future.

“Ukraine is using all diplomatic possibilities to restore the work of observers in the temporarily occupied territories” – the message says.

To remind, the work of international observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in certain areas of the Donetsk region (ORDO) has been suspended. They were simply blocked in their locations.
