The eight-deck ship was purchased to conduct Antarctic missions. The ship is about 30 years old. It can accommodate about 50 passengers and 27 crew members. The cost of the icebreaker is a little more than USD 5 mln.

There are eight laboratories for 50 scientists on the icebreaker. After the ship is renamed, it will go on its first Arctic mission under the flag of Ukraine.
