Ukraine and the United Kingdom agreed to build warships

Ukraine and the United Kingdom will join forces in shipbuilding. The countries agreed on the joint construction of warships and bases for the Ukrainian Navy, UA reports.

The corresponding memorandum was signed by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Mironyuk and Minister for Defense Procurement of Great Britain Jeremy Quinn aboard the British Royal Navy’s missile destroyer Defender, located in Odesa port. The document provides for the joint design and construction of warships in Ukraine and Great Britain, the reconstruction of Ukrainian shipbuilding enterprises and the construction of 2 bases of the Ukrainian Navy.

“We hope that the first contracts will already be signed in August. the British side is going to provide financing. On our part, our enterprises will participate in order to ensure the full life cycle of these boats directly in Ukraine”, – Mironyuk said.
