Belarusian opposition activists Kolesnikova and Znak were sentenced to 11 and 10 years in prison

The court in Minsk announced the verdict on the Belarusian oppositionists Maria Kolesnikova and Maksim Znak.

Maria Kolesnikova was sentenced to 11 years in a general regime colony, Maksim Znak to 10 years in a maximum security colony. The hearing was held behind closed doors. The judge of the Minsk Regional Court, Sergei Epikhov, found them guilty under three articles of the Criminal Code of Belarus: Part 3 of Art. 361 (calls to action against national security), part 1 of Art. 357 (conspiracy to seize state power by unconstitutional means), Part 1 of Art. 361-1 (creation and leadership of an extremist group).
