It is unlikely that Russia has abandoned the idea of attacking Ukraine’s energy system. The aggressor country continues to accumulate missiles and can use them at any time. This opinion was expressed on the FREEDOM TV channel by the military-political observer of the Information Resistance group, Olexander Kovalenko.

“I would not be sure that they abandoned their plans, in any case, the accumulation of missiles is not encouraging at all, absolutely. That is, the missiles are accumulating, they are accumulating ammunition, and they will be able to use it at any convenient moment that seems so to them,” he said.

Kovalenko noted that Russian troops continue to massively use Shahed-type kamikaze drones for attacks on Ukrainian territory.

“They have come to systemic use, almost every evening they launch several groups of kamikaze drones, which allows them to replace the missile component in this way. Why use missiles that cost several million each when you can use several dozen Shaheds for much less? At the same time, achieving not just a similar effect, but an even greater effect of terror,” he explained.

The observer emphasized that over the past months, raids and strikes by the “Shaheds” were also directed against energy infrastructure facilities.

“But, for example, if 30 Shaheds are launched across Ukraine, then 85-95%, and sometimes even 100% of them are shot down by our air defense forces. And we don’t know where most of the “Shaheds” were going, what their final goal was, what object they were supposed to hit. It is possible that of these 30 Shaheds, 15 or 20 were aimed specifically at energy infrastructure facilities. But they were shot down. Therefore, I can neither confirm nor deny that they abandoned the idea of striking at the energy sector. And, of course, the fact that they do not use missiles is not so much inspiring as, on the contrary, alarming,” summed up Olexander Kovalenko.
