Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the G7 Summit in France produced important outcomes for Ukraine, including agreements to further strengthen the country’s air defense capabilities and increase pressure on Russia over its war against Ukraine, UATV English reports.
“The G7 Summit in France has brought important results for Ukraine. Most importantly, we agreed on additional strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense,” Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, partners also agreed on new measures to increase pressure on Russia in an effort to advance peace and hold Moscow accountable for its continued aggression.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine’s allies would continue supporting the country’s defense needs and help strengthen its energy resilience amid ongoing Russian attacks on critical infrastructure.
The Ukrainian leader stressed that participants shared a common understanding of the main challenges facing Ukraine and Europe, as well as the concrete steps needed to address them.
“It is important that we have a shared understanding of the key challenges and specific actions to respond to them,” he said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that international unity remains a crucial factor in limiting Russia’s ability to continue the war.
“Our global unity is genuinely reducing Russia’s ability to continue this insane and criminal aggression against Ukraine,” the president said.
He thanked Ukraine’s partners for their continued support and assistance.
