President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he held a three-way phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron following the G7 Summit, describing the discussion as an important coordination effort that could “change a lot.”
According to Zelenskyy, the leaders reviewed the results of their talks during the summit and discussed further steps aimed at strengthening Ukraine and advancing diplomatic efforts, UATV English reports.
“Just spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron. It was an important coordination call that can change a lot. We summed up our negotiations at the G7 Summit,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president thanked Trump for his attention to Ukraine and his willingness to help bring peace closer.
“I am grateful to President Trump for his attention to Ukraine and his readiness to help advance peace,” Zelenskyy said.
He also thanked Macron for organizing the summit and for France’s continued cooperation with Ukraine.
“Thank you to Emmanuel for the excellent organization of the summit and for our consistently strong joint work,” he said.
According to Zelenskyy, the three leaders are working to strengthen Ukraine, deepen cooperation, and improve diplomatic prospects.
“Peace is needed. And we are doing everything to bring peace closer,” the Ukrainian president said.
The call came shortly after the G7 leaders agreed to increase military support for Ukraine, strengthen sanctions pressure on Russia, and explore additional defense-industrial cooperation, including possible missile production licensing for Ukraine
