The Odessa City Council plans to preserve and develop its city center.
On Wednesday, it approved $36 million to do it, with plans reaching into 2021.
After a detailed analysis, the City Council found that most of the 1,354 houses in the center need repairs and forty-two buildings are considered especially historically important, Ukrinform reported.
“To repair all the buildings, we need much more funding than is currently planned for the repair and restoration project over the next three years. Nevertheless, it’s good that this year we’ll start the important work,” project coauthor, Eduard Stas said.
