Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has signed off on a draft agreement with the Syrian Arab Republic’s government covering cooperation in humanitarian demining efforts.

The relevant resolution (No. 685-r), dated July 13, 2026, was published on the government’s official website, according to UATV English.

“The draft agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of the Syrian Arab Republic on cooperation in mine action in the area of humanitarian demining is hereby approved,” the document states.

Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Ihor Bezkaravainyi has been given authorization to sign the agreement on Ukraine’s behalf.

As previously reported, a delegation from Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture visited Syria in early March, holding a series of meetings in Damascus to discuss mine action alongside broader trade and economic cooperation.
