President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, where the two leaders discussed expanding bilateral cooperation and advancing joint projects.

In a post on Facebook on June 17, Zelenskyy said Ukraine and India possess significant potential for cooperation across various sectors and are already implementing several joint initiatives, UATV English reports.

“Our countries have great potential for cooperation, and we are already implementing joint projects. Today, we discussed how to give them even greater substance and develop cooperation in various areas,” Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian president and the Indian prime minister exchanged views on opportunities for mutually beneficial partnership and agreed on the importance of deepening bilateral ties.

According to Zelenskyy, Modi emphasized his readiness to promptly consider proposals put forward by the Ukrainian side.

The two leaders agreed that their teams would remain in close contact to advance cooperation.

The meeting took place amid broader diplomatic engagements at the G7 Summit in France, where leaders agreed to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities, increase supplies of long-range weapons, and intensify pressure on Russia’s war economy.
