During the night of May 24, the Russian army struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles and attack drones. Numerous hits on civilian infrastructure were recorded in all districts of the city. As of 05:30 a.m., 21 people had been injured. This was reported by UATV English, citing Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
All districts of Kyiv suffered as a result of the overnight Russian attack: 21 people are known to have been injured, and one person may have been killed, — Klitschko said.

Preliminary data by district:
- Shevchenkivskyi district: two residential buildings and an office center were damaged, cars caught fire. Due to damage to the vestibule, the Lukianivska metro station was temporarily closed. People were trapped inside shelters in a school and office center.
- Solomianskyi district: a Russian drone struck the 23rd floor of a 24-story residential building, causing structural destruction and a fire.
- Pecherskyi district: a fire broke out in a 20-story residential building following a UAV strike.
- Obolonskyi district: a drone hit a private house. Another UAV caught fire near a separate house, and a blaze also erupted in a 16-story building, spreading to a neighboring structure.
- Dniprovskyi district: debris fell on the roof of a residential building. A private house caught fire after a UAV strike. A warehouse building and a garage cooperative were damaged.
- Darnytskyi district: debris damaged a dormitory building, non-residential premises, a service station, and cars.
- Desnianskyi district: UAV debris struck the buildings of a supermarket and a shopping mall.
- Holosiivskyi district: missile debris fell on the roof of a 24-story residential building.
- Sviatoshynskyi district: missile debris fell on a one-story private residential house.
- Podilskyi district: debris fell on the territory of a non-residential development.
Russia struck Ukraine overnight with 90 missiles and around 600 drones of various types, — the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported
Kyiv was the main target of the attack.
According to preliminary data, Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 604 aerial targets:
- 11 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
- 44 Kh-101/Iskander-K/Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 549 enemy drones of various types.
Hits by 16 missiles and 51 attack drones were also recorded at 54 locations. Debris from downed UAVs fell at another 23 locations.
Emergency services continue eliminating the consequences at all locations.
