We thank German partners for multifaceted cooperation on the humanitarian front: Deputy PM Vereshchuk

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk together with German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen visited the National Children’s Specialized Hospital “Okhmatdyt” today. The German side handed over to the medical institution new modern equipment and devices for the neurosurgical operating room. A EUR 750,000 resource for the purchase of neuronavigation systems was allocated by the Federal Government of Germany.

Addressing the audience, Iryna Vereshchuk noted that the current project is the result of multifaceted cooperation between the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine and the Government of Germany.

Thanks to this innovative equipment, hundreds of Ukrainian children traumatized because of the war will be able to rehabilitate and recover faster at home, in Ukraine.

According to the official data of juvenile prosecutors, almost 1,300 Ukrainian children have suffered as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the russian federation. More than 850 of them were injured.

“Germany has stood side by side with Ukraine throughout the entire ordeal. We constantly feel support from the German Government and personally from the Ambassador. Today we are holding the humanitarian front. And to a large extent thanks to the help of our international partners. It is crucial for us to understand that we are not alone in this struggle,” the official said.

She reminded that German doctors share their best practices in the treatment of injuries and severe burns with Ukrainian colleagues. Germany helps to save victims of war, especially Ukrainian children.

Iryna Vereshchuk expressed her sincere gratitude to the Federal Government of Germany, the Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Mrs. Anka Feldhusen for the participation and comprehensive assistance to Ukrainians affected by the war. She reminded that the restoration and provision of equipment for medical institutions in other regions of Ukraine is planned. As well as a joint project to assist internally displaced persons.
