Blinken arrives in China seeking to weaken China’s support for Russia’s war efforts

US State Secretary Antony Blinken arrives in China on a three-day visit to convince its leaders to give up providing military supplies to Russia.

That’s according to The Washington Post.

Mr. Blinken is going to meet with China’s foreign minister, Wang Yi. but it has not been confirmed whether the US official will meet with Xi Jinping.

Antony Blinken previously confirmed that China remains the largest contributer to the Russian war machine “to this day”, which interferes with China-US and China-EU relations.

“If China purports on the one hand to want good relations with Europe and other countries, it can’t on the other hand be fueling what is the biggest threat to European security since the end of the Cold War,” Blinken said at a G7 ministerial meeting in Italy, according to Washington Post.

China does not sell actual arms to Russia, but supplies weapon components and dual-use products to Russia in large quantities, which are helping Vladimir Putin rebuild and modernise his arms production.

On April 23, The Senate passed a bill that provides financial aid for Taiwan and enables banning TikTok in the US unless the parent company sells it.
