Ukraine has already signed six agreements under the Drone Deal framework, while more than 20 additional countries are working to join the initiative, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov said.
According to Umerov, each agreement is signed for a 10-year period and provides for the export of Ukrainian defense production and technologies, as well as the development of long-term defense cooperation, UATV English reports.
He said the Drone Deal framework is built around four key pillars: security assistance through consultations and expertise from Ukrainian military specialists, the export of battle-tested defense solutions, localization of production in partner countries under the Build with Ukraine and Build in Ukraine formats, and joint special projects, including cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, and satellite initiatives.
Umerov also noted that the government has introduced a Fast Track mechanism for Drone Deal partners, reducing the review period for export applications from 90 to 30 days for products that are not classified as critical military items.
“Defense technologies should not only strengthen Ukraine’s Defense Forces but also become the foundation of a new security architecture together with our international partners,” Umerov said.
Earlier this week, the Ukrainian government approved the Fast Track mechanism for exports of selected categories of military products. Under the new framework, partner countries participating in the Drone Deal initiative will be able to purchase Ukrainian weapons and defense technologies directly from Ukrainian manufacturers.
