Ukraine, Latvia prepare 9th Meeting of Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation

The issues of assistance to Ukraine and restoration of the infrastructure destroyed during the full-scale russian aggression, as well as the expansion and intensification of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia, in particular, the holding of the Ninth Meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation, were discussed by the Co-Chairs of the Commission, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleh Nemchinov and Minister of Economics of Latvia Ilze Indriksone, during an online meeting on January 24, 2023.

During the conversation, Oleh Nemchinov congratulated Ilze Indriksone on reappointment as Minister of Economics of Latvia and thanked the Latvian colleague for the assistance provided by Latvia to Ukraine.

Ilze Indriksone proposed to hold the Ninth Meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation in March this year.

The co-chairs emphasized that during the meeting they intended to discuss a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, including the activities of Latvian business in Ukraine, Latvia’s assistance in restoring Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, cooperation between our countries in transport and logistics, including the transit of Ukrainian goods through Latvian ports, digitalization and support for the IT sector, cooperation in energy efficiency, environmental protection, and youth policy.
