Ukraine is the 5th at 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo

The sixth day of the 2020 Paralympic Games began on August 30 in Tokyo. Following the results of the previous day, Ukraine rose to the fifth place in the medal standings. And in terms of the number of awards, our team is on the fourth place.

The national team of Ukraine has 47 awards: 11 gold medals, 24 silver and 12 bronze ones. China continues to hold the lead – the country’s representatives have won a total of 108 awards – 48 gold, 31 silver and 29 bronze ones.

The second place is taken by the national team of the United Kingdom. Its Paralympians won 64 medals – 25 gold, 19 silver and 20 bronze ones. The Paralympic committee of Russia is the third. Its representatives won 54 awards – 15 gold, 11 silver and 28 bronze ones.

In the Top-10 are the national teams of the United States (15/17/9), Azerbaijan (9/0/4), Australia (8/16/13), the Netherlands (8/7/5), Brazil (11/5/15) and Italy (8/10/10).

The 2020 Paralympic Games in Japanese capital will last until September 5. Athletes from more than 160 countries in 22 sports take part in the competition.

Ukraine is represented by 143 Paralympians in 15 sports. This is the seventh Games for the Paralympic team of Ukraine.

To remind, on the first day of the 2020 Paralympic Games, Ukrainian athletes won 1 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals.
