The United States has resumed military strikes against Iran, with President Donald Trump warning that Washington will respond to any future Iranian attack with overwhelming force, UATV English reports.

According to U.S. Central Command, the latest operation is aimed at degrading Iran’s ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. officials accused Tehran of carrying out recent attacks on commercial vessels and civilian crews in the strategic waterway.

Trump said the previous ceasefire arrangement with Iran was no longer in effect and vowed a “20-to-1” response to any Iranian attack.

“We hit them very hard. I would say we hit them at a ratio of 20 to 1. Every time they hit us, we’re going to hit them 20 to 1. We did that last night. Today they carried out some attacks, but this was real retaliation for last night. They struck three boats, not two. And when they struck, we responded with a much stronger blow,” Trump said.

The renewed campaign follows U.S. strikes on more than 80 targets in Iran a day earlier, marking a significant escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas previously warned that the exchange of strikes between the United States and Iran further complicates efforts to achieve a ceasefire, adding that Iran’s attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait are unacceptable.
