When Russian propaganda has nothing to say, it works in the opposite direction and scares its citizens. Political technologist Taras Zagorodniy said this today, May 30, on the air of FREEDOM TV channel, commenting on the drone attack on Moscow.
According to him, propaganda has a limited effect.
“Especially because for 20 years Putin has been selling Russians a basic security agreement in exchange for freedoms. And here it turns out that there is no security and he did not provide it. Ridiculously. Moscow is already being bombed, and now what will you do in this case? So in this context it is very good. And they are already confused. Because there were threats all day, some deputies said that everything is scary, we will respond in decision-making centers. In the suburbs of Moscow, by the way, a distillery burned down, probably it was a decision-making center. That is, they got confused. So wait – calm or not calm? The very fact that Moscow was hit, as they said, for the first time since World War II, undermines all the foundations of propaganda,” said Zagorodny.
The political technologist noted that there is no talk here, and there are restrictions on propaganda.
“Because propaganda is, after all, such a magnifying glass that can hyperbolize an event, increase it, sharpen it, or focus it. But when propaganda no longer has anything to say, it works in reverse — it scares Russians more than it supports them,” says Zagorodny.
It should be noted that the Meduza online publication has received certain dark people, which should be voiced by the Russian mass media. In particular: “to draw attention to the successful work of the Air Defense Forces”, “to indicate that the reaction of the federal services, the leadership of Moscow, as well as the Moscow region was immediate, and the work was high-quality and focused”, “to emphasize that the goal of the provocation was not achieved”, “to emphasize because the task of the attack was psychological, but the residents showed calmness and endurance.”
