The Verkhovna Rada called on the UN, the European Parliament, foreign governments and parliaments and parliamentary assemblies of international organizations to prevent unacceptable military blackmail by Russia, which it seeks to prevent NATO enlargement and Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

This was reported by UA with reference to the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The relevant resolution №6543 was supported by 282 people’s deputies out of 319 registered in the session hall.

The Verkhovna Rada’s appeal states that Russia’s demands to international partners to prevent Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations violate the Constitution and legislation of Ukraine, basic principles and norms of international law, and the Charter of the United Nations.

In this resolution, people’s deputies appeal to the international community and call for condemnation of the threat of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

To remind, 36 UN member states accused Russia of spreading fakes about Ukraine.
