The US rhetoric has changed – they want not just to help Ukraine defend itself, but for Russia to lose, – opinion

A new package of military aid to Ukraine from the United States will be sent in the coming days. This is a very important event, and it’s not just about the fact that the Ukrainian military will receive weapons. The US rhetoric itself has changed. More and more people in Washington are talking about what needs to be done to ensure that Ukraine not only defends itself, but also wins. American political strategist and political scientist Jason Smart focused on this on the FREEDOM TV channel.

“I think this is very important actually. The decision on a new aid package not only allows for the provision of weapons to Ukraine. I see that the rhetoric has changed. That is, we previously heard what the US said: we need to defend Ukraine or help Ukraine defend itself. And now more and more Americans are saying: what can we do to make Ukraine win? This is already a big difference. Moreover, they say: what needs to be done for Russia to lose. I see that the rhetoric has changed, and this is only positive,” the political scientist noted.

He believes that in the future, assistance to Ukraine from the United States will be provided faster and easier, without such problems as arose with the last package.

“I think that there will be no such problems as this time. We had to wait six months for a decision. But now we’ve seen that the pro-Trump Republicans who opposed aid to Ukraine don’t have as much power as they thought. Their ability to remove the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, as they did previously with Kevin McCarthy, will not be repeated. Now it will be more difficult for them to work against aid to Ukraine,” Smart said.

He does not rule out that Ukraine will receive additional assistance from the United States within a few months with an eye toward next year.

“From my point of view, there will be more new aid to Ukraine by the end of the year, maybe in two or three months, so that next year Ukraine can defend itself and resist Russian aggression,” the political scientist noted.

According to him, the White House does not want to waste any more time. The first deliveries of weapons will begin within just a few days.

“Senator Mark Warner said the other day that he expects the first ATACMS to be delivered to Ukraine by the end of this week. That is, the Americans work very quickly. Everyone is very willing to help. They know that Ukraine needs this help, and they have been waiting a long time to transfer these new weapons,” Smart concluded.

As previously reported, the US Senate by an overwhelming majority finally approved the decision to allocate military assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan in the amount of $95 billion. Almost 61 billion of this amount is intended for assistance to Ukraine. The document was signed by US President Joe Biden so that the necessary weapons would arrive in Ukraine as quickly as possible.
