The US State Department announced that is ready to join the “Crimean Platform”, the creation of which was initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was reported in the office of a representative of the US State Department, Ukrinform reports.
“The United States welcomes the new initiative of Ukraine, namely the “Crimean Platform”, and looks forward with pleasure to the continuation of cooperation with Ukraine, as well as our allies and partners on ending the Russian occupation of the Crimean peninsula, and aggression in the east of Ukraine”, – they noted in the department.
The Department of State has also recalled that the United States reaffirms its support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including its territorial waters.
The Crimean Platform is a new format that Ukraine has proposed in order to strengthen its international influence on the situation in the occupied Crimea. The first platform summit will take place in Kyiv on August 23.
