The United States is concerned about a statement by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev calling Crimea Crimea Russian.

This was reported by UA with reference to the Facebook of the US Embassy in Bulgaria.

“The United States, the G7, the European Union and NATO are adamant and united on the fact that, despite Russia’s attempts to annex the peninsula and its current occupation, Crimea is Ukraine” – the statement said.

The US Embassy recalled that in August, all participants in the Crimean Platform summit, including Bulgaria, said that Crimea was an integral part of Ukraine.

To remind, on November 19, Bulgarian Ambassador to Kyiv Kostadin Kojabashev was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian side explained to Kostadin Kojabashev the position of our state on the incorrectness and inadmissibility of the statements of the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev regarding Crimea during the pre-election TV debates.

On November 18, 2021, the President of Bulgaria said on a national TV channel that the occupied Crimea was “is Russian now”.
