The United States and the European Union have agreed to punish Russia in the event of an attack on Ukraine. The day before, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and European Council President Charles Michel held talks and decided that the response to the Kremlin’s actions should be swift and tough.

This was announced by spokesman for the U.S. State Department Ned Price,  UA reports.

He also noted that both the European Union and the United States support Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

Antony Blinken and Charles Michel voiced their concern about Russia’s military build-up around Ukraine, stressed the need for de-escalation and the return to diplomacy, including full implementation of the Minsk agreements, which are the best way to resolve the situation in Donbas.

Earlier it was reported that the United States is ready to allocate $300 million in military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
