The first inaugural summit of the Crimean platform started in Kyiv today, August 23. It will officially launch the first international format for de-occupation of Crimea.

UA reports this.

The Crimean Platform is a new international consultation and coordination format initiated by Ukraine. It aims to increase the effectiveness of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security threats, increase international pressure on the Kremlin, prevent further human rights violations and protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the main goal – de-occupation of Crimea.

45 states and international organizations take part in the founding summit of the Crimean platform.

Interactive installations, exhibitions and a music program about the traditions of Crimea and its historical connection with Ukraine – all this is a part of the cultural program prepared for the guests of the “Crimean Platform” summit.

The Multimedia Gallery “Treasures of Crimea” will tell about Bakhchisaray Palace, Chersonese and other sights of the peninsula. Another installation is dedicated to the symbols of the peninsula – coffee, figs, shell rock, from which houses are made. The sand animation will demonstrate the variety of Crimean Tatar ornaments.

Guests of the Crimean platform will also be able to leave their messages to the residents of the occupied peninsula. The interactive portal “Letters to the Crimea” will help in this.

To remind, earlier Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba reported that the Crimean platform will work at three levels: intergovernmental, interparliamentary, and expert level.
