Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said Russia cannot defeat Ukraine as long as Ukrainians remain determined to defend their freedom and independence, UATV English reports.
Speaking at the Shusha Global Media Forum, Aliyev emphasized that a nation striving for liberty cannot be subdued and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“It is impossible to defeat a people who are fighting for their freedom and independence,” Aliyev said while discussing Russia’s war against Ukraine.
He also pledged continued Azerbaijani support for Kyiv.
“Azerbaijan continues to support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. We will always help the people of Ukraine in every way we can,” Aliyev said.
Aliyev’s remarks reaffirm Azerbaijan’s longstanding position in support of Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders while highlighting Baku’s commitment to providing continued assistance to the Ukrainian people.
