Since July 1, 23 thousand hectares of land have been sold – Agricultural ministry

After the launch of the land market in Ukraine, 10,683 land purchase and sale agreements were registered, and almost 23,000 hectares of land changed owners.

According to the report, there is a tendency of increase of the number of land transactions and the area of ​​lands sold. As of the end of July, only some 6,500 hectares had been sold.

“Now, on average, 200 transactions are registered every day. The average size of a land plot is about 2 hectares, which corresponds to the average size of a land share in Ukraine” – said Taras Dzioba, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization.

Most agreements (over 1,000) were concluded in Poltava region, where almost 2,700 hectares were sold. Kharkiv region is on the second place with 684 agreements (2,616 hectares). Kirovograd region is the third with 555 agreements (2074 hectares).

Taras Dzioba noted that about 4,400 unique buyers are among the new owners. The lion’s share of transactions (up to 99%) are concluded by individuals.

To remind, since July 1 the agricultural lands market operates in Ukraine. The relevant law was signed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy on April 28.

Thus, starting July 1, 2021, the right of ownership of agricultural land with an area of ​​up to 100 hectares can be acquired by citizens of Ukraine only.
