Shevchenko Prize laureates were awarded in Kyiv

The ceremony of awarding the laureates of the Shevchenko Prize was held in Kyiv. This year, Donetsk resident and journalist Stanislav Aseev with his book “In Isolation” was among the best. UATV reports this.

In the book the author talks about tortures in an underground prison in Donetsk.

Also the award was given to the director and production designer of the dystopian film “Atlantis”, which tells about the future de-occupation of Donbas.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska attended the 60th anniversary awarding ceremony, as well as representatives of the President’s Office and the government.

“Today my wife and I are here at the national award. I congratulate you on the 60 anniversary, which is symbolic. All this happens in the year of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. It seems to me that this is symbolic”, – Zlenskyy noted. 

The Shevchenko Prize is a state award, the highest creative distinction for a significant contribution to the development of culture and art. It was founded in 1961.
