Fighters of the 423rd Battalion “Scythian Griffins” destroyed a Russian Strela-10 surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, UATV English reports.

The purpose of the enemy Strela-10 SAM system is to detect and shoot down targets at low altitudes.

“Such systems are no longer produced in Russia, and the estimated replacement cost is 6–8 million dollars. And most importantly, it was destroyed by a drone that is 250 times cheaper. This is what asymmetric warfare looks like, where the enemy’s millions disappear in seconds,” the report says.

As noted by the press service of the Scythian Griffins battalion, this is already the second such strike in January. Earlier, the battalion destroyed an Osa SAM system — an air defense complex that was located deep in the enemy rear. The surface-to-air missile system, costing from 10 million dollars, was hit by a means that was 300 times cheaper.

Recall that on the night of January 19, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck a warehouse of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) belonging to a unit of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division in the settlement of Novokrasnianka in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region.
