The Norwegian government reported that it recently delivered a significant number of missiles to Ukraine for NASAMS air defense systems so that they can continue to protect Ukrainian cities from Russian strikes, UATV English reports.

This was discussed during an online meeting between Norway’s Minister of Defense Tore O. Sandvik and his Ukrainian counterpart Mykhailo Fedorov.

As noted by the press service of the Norwegian Ministry of Defense, air defense is a priority of Norway’s military support for Ukraine.

The NASAMS air defense systems that Ukraine has received from a number of countries, including the United States, Canada, Lithuania, and Norway, have proven to be very effective against Russian missiles.

“Thanks to cooperation with the United States and other countries, Norway quickly delivered air defense missiles to Ukraine at a critical stage so that the NASAMS system could continue to protect Ukrainian citizens from deadly air strikes,” said Minister of Defense Tore O. Sandvik.

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed concern that a deepening confrontation between the United States and European states would hit the capabilities of Ukraine’s air defense.

It was previously reported that the conflict over Greenland would have negative consequences for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, primarily due to the likely suspension of contributions from Europe to the PURL program.
