Russia must remain under sanctions – President of Lithuania

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said that Russia should remain under sanctions until all the occupied territories are returned.

He said this during a speech at the founding summit Crimea platform, UA informs.

The President of Lithuania stressed that the territorial integrity of Ukraine should be restored in full accordance with international law.

“We are committed to the idea of independence, indivisibility, and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We promise to properly implement and strengthen the policy of non-recognition and sanctions until the full restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine” – Gitanas Nauseda said.

President of Lithuania assured that Lithuania supports efforts to strengthen state institutions in Ukraine, ensure the rule of law and fair competition in market economy. In his opinion, these reforms will help create a free, strong, prosperous Ukrainian state.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Lithuania was the first to declare officially its readiness to support Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

To remind, the summit of the Crimean Platform has started in Kyiv.
