Ocean Grand arrived in Ukraine from Baltimore (USA) with two modernized patrol boats of the Island type.
This is reported by UA with reference to a site of the Ministry of Defense.
Patrol boats of the Ukrainian Navy on board a cargo ship traveled thousands of miles and entered the territorial waters of Ukraine. Ahead is the final stop of the route – Odesa Sea Commercial Port, passing customs control, unloading, towing to the base and preparation for operation after prolonged transportation.
The boats were named “Fastiv” and “Sumy”. The naval flag of Ukraine will be raised on them soon.
The transfer of the boats took place within the framework of material and technical assistance of the United States of America to Ukraine, which has been going on since 2014 and is a contribution of the American society to strengthening the maritime security of our country. Obtaining foreign-made patrol boats enables the Ukrainian Navy to increase its interoperability with the navies of NATO member states and partners.
To remind, in November Ukraine received 80 tons of ammunition from the United States.
